Finally MUA bring out their first
intense coloured lip liners! And if you use their intense coloured eyeliners
you know how creamy and strong the payoff is on them- and the lip liners live
up to the eyeliners for sure, you will love them! There are four shades ranging
from a soft pink to a deep plum shade which match most MUA lipstick shades in
the range or in some cases like myself you can use these shades as lipsticks
which I am a big fan of using lip liners as lipsticks for precision and stay
put power and they all
come with a handy sharpener on the lid.
And because we
are so good to our MUA fans you have the chance to *WIN* all four shades before
they are due out. To take part in the competition all you have to do is follow
this blog via Google Friend Connect and at the bottom of my blog post, tell me
what you would use the new lip liners for! To outline your lips? Or use them as a lipstick or maybe for
something else? And finally which is your favourite shade? The best comment will be picked and the winner
be announced on the 23rd July 2012. Competition closes midnight on the 22nd
July 2012.
THIS NOW APPLIES TO ALL RESIDENTS!
Applying MUA intense lip liners is not a tough task, if you know which colours suit you the best and how to apply the lip liner. So get to know the tricks and tips of lip liner from this blog on my lip liner tips.
Why use a lip liner?
Lip liner is meant to create a line, a
border for the lips. You must have experienced smudging and spreading of lipstick
above and below your lips so the lip liner gives an outline to your lips, which
prevents MUA’s lipsticks from bleeding. Lip liner also helps to keep the
lipstick on the lips for a longer time. Besides all these uses, the main
advantage of lip liner is that it gives the lips a concrete shape, which makes
them stand out and look full.
Using MUA’s lip liners
The advantages of MUA’s lip liner is
that you can sharpen the pencil whenever you want and that's why there is no
danger of bacteria, and you also get a fine point every time, which is not
possible in case of mechanical lip liner. When choosing the colour of the lip
liner, remember that lip liner should match the colour of the lipstick. One
darker is okay, but it should never be dark than that and nor should it be
lighter than the lipstick. The reasons are obvious, if the lip liner is fainter
than the lipstick, it won't be seen, which means it will be useless. And if it
is darker than the lipstick, only a border of lip liner will be seen on your
lips. If you are not sure which colour to buy or if you are not getting the
same shade as the lipstick, go for the nude shades. It will be the safest as it
will perform the same job as other lip liners but without imparting any colour.
·
First of all
clean your lips well, remove any signs of lip balm or gloss.
·
Be sure that the
pencil is sharp enough.
·
In case it
becomes very pointed, do not try breaking the point! Just rub it onto a tissue.
·
To start with,
make a dot in centre of your upper as well as lower lip. In the same way, make
a few more dots on the entire lips, keep a distance between them.
·
Start joining the
dots one by one, with a firm hand. Continue till the edge of the lips.
·
Now wait for a
second and carefully check in the mirror if any space is left, if you notice
any space, fill it with light strokes.
·
You can apply your
favourite MUA lipstick now. See to it that the lip liner and lipstick look
smooth.
·
If your lips are
thinner, apply very little lip liner, on the lip line as well as a bit above
your original lip line.
·
To make the lips smaller, apply a bit darker colour
than your lipstick and also apply a bit of foundation before applying the lip
liner. Hope these lip liner tricks and tips help you to have irresistible lips!

I would use them as a lipstick with staying power. I love all the shades & can't wait yo experiment!
ReplyDeleteThey look so awesome!
ReplyDeleteI would use them like lipsticks for an intense, matte colour. And I love that I wouldn't have to worry about getting it on my teeth or feathering at the edges like normal lipstick! Haha!
I would definatly use them as a colour for my lips rather than just a liner (I find they last alot longer than lipstick) and put a lip gloss over them to give them a finished look. I also would use them when Im adding finished details to my eye's...I often find that they dont smudge as easy as eye liners which, lets face it, is what most people want
ReplyDeleteLove the look of pink me up and red drama. Would use these to outline my lips properly, something I should probably do more often :)
ReplyDeletex~x
I love the colour Pink Me Up and I would use it as a lipstick because I could line the outline of my lips perfectly then fill them in with the lip liner! :) xxx
ReplyDeleteI'd not be able to decide between the plum shade or the softly lined shade as I have a favourite deep red that I use on some days but then on other days I use one of the mua shades which is much more natural. I'd love to see how much better my lips would be with the liners to line them!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite shade got to be Softly Lined as I am an addict when it comes to anything pink .Id use the liner to outline my lips &make it appear fuller ,but also Id use it as a blush to highlight my cheeck bones as it seems a fairly blendable product & would look great when I go out on a date even if the weather is totally crap..!! The possibilities are endless & I am too excited cnt wait till I'll be able to purchase it at superdrug
ReplyDeleteps pls check out my blog as I love ur products & did few reviews on them

I'd obviously use the lip liners to line my lips and to fill in my whole lip for a different matte look, but I would also use them to write messages on my mirror to cheer myself up when I'm having a bad day!
ReplyDeleteMy fav shade is pink me up, and I like to outline lips to really make them stand out with a neutral eye! x
ReplyDeleteOooo I'm loving Pink Me Up and Softly Lined! I would use these lip liners in various ways, I would use them under lipstick. I would also use them as lipsticks and apply a coat of lipgloss. You could also use them for creative makeup, like drawing fine designs to the face. Theres plenty of things you could do with them! Softly lined would make a great highlighter!
ReplyDeletehttp://somakeupmonster.blogspot.co.uk/
This is a very difficult question! Because choose the color of lips it's more important, especially when you are in love :D
ReplyDeleteFor me, I chooose my lipstick like my mood. An example when I'm in love I choose pink shades and nude, when I'm angry or aggressive I love red lipstick, fire red, red passion..in summer I like orange...but I think my favourite is the look lips baby and shimmer!
Following on GFC as Emily. I would definitely wear the lipliners as lipsticks, I personally think it looks nicer and gives a different finish to if you were to wear an actual lipstick, which makes a nice change. My favourite shade is pink me up! I love softly lined too x
ReplyDeletehttp://onewaybeauty.blogspot.com
I would mostly use them as a lipstick, as I just like the whole general idea of that really, two in one product and all :)
ReplyDeletejadepalmer9@aol.com
DeleteI would use the reds as a lipliner, but the pinks would make a gorgeous all over colour! :) xx

My favourite lip liner is 'pink me up' and I'd use it as an all over my lips for a really intense colour.

I would use them as lipsticks, they seem really great and my faves are Pink Me Up and Softly Lined.
ReplyDeleteI like to use them under lipsticks to add colour and make them last longer. My favourite is brooding plum. x
ReplyDeleteAs lipsticks - definitely!
ReplyDeleteI would use the lip liners under a MUA lipstick for an amazing lip look! Especially 'pink me up' under shade 4! Can't wait for these to be released!

I'd use them to fill in my lips entirely, then put a similar shade of lippie over the top to make the colour last ages. My fave shade is Brooding Plum.
ReplyDeleteleahjdm (at) gmail (dot)com
xx
my favourite shades are brooding plum and pink me up, i would use them to outline my lips as i believe is an everyday essential if you want your lip colour to look good and as a lipstick for nights out to be sure the colour is gonna last all night
ReplyDeleteI'd defo use them all over the lip as a base for lipstick to help staying power! Might be tempted to use the softer pinks as an eye shadow base too x

ReplyDeleteI loooove these lipliners. I like using lipliners all over the lip because they give a cute matte or semi-matte effect, which I think is really cute and flattering. And as I already have quite luscious lips I would also use them to line my lips and then apply lipstick. This I would defo do with red lipsticks and maybe add some clear gloss.
ReplyDeletemy fav is red drama its beautiful
ReplyDeletei would use them as a all overlip and also as a base to keep the lipstick on
i would also use it to line my lips
as iv been looking for these type of colours but in an affordable price range and these deff are!
I would use them as a lipstick, with a lip balm added for shine! Brooding Plum is my favourite although they're all lovely!
ReplyDeleteI've seen people use lip colours on cheeks! That would be something new.. I don't have any bold red shades so the Red Drama is my choice :)

I would definitely use them as lipsticks ! I think the colors look amazing and if you say they are as good as the eyeliners, i would want them on my lips for sure instead of a regular lipstick. I think it would work gteat as a base for the blush. My favorite color is Red Drama - it would make me feel like a star !
ReplyDeleteOn second place i would pick Pink me up :D My Gfc name: Ale♥
I can use the red drama on the inner part of my lips creating that just bitten effect and outlining the rest of my lips with a lighter colour such as softly lined creating the most beautiful gradient ombre lips effect which is such an amazing trend for the summer!

OH I would love to try them by themselves or with a lipstick! they look so pretty. Plus I haven't really tried any lip liners so this would be fun to try out! Loving pink me up!
ReplyDeletemariahl03@hotmail.com
I would like to use these lip liners for a dual work...as they are long lasting I would like to use them a eye liner also apart from outlining lips. So it will be a 2-in-1 pencil :)
ReplyDeleteMy favourite shade is Brooding Plum :):)

I would definately use them as a lipstick, maybe even with a lipgloss over the top :)
ReplyDeleteLove the Brooding Plum shade
My favourite shade is red drama. When I have the time, I'll use them to line my lips follow by lipstick and gloss etc. Usually with trying to reach school on time, I wouldn't have time to do a proper make up. So these lip liners will do as lipstick. The colours are great to just wear them alone,

I really love Brooding Plum shade..!
ReplyDeleteI'll use them of course to outline my lips and as a base for my lipsticks. But, I will go for using this as lipstick alone if I want some quick matte look since I have some kind of rushy things lately
I am new on lip liner and haven't got to try any but only one lip liner. And of course I would love to get this if I am given the chance for :p

I would use these liners as a lipstick. This would also provide an excellent base to your lipstick on top, as once it has gradually worn off, you will still be left with a pigmented base, as well as a transition from glossy lipstick, to a more matte shade in the liner - creating more looks than just one!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite is Pink Me Up. Applied subtly, creates a 'my lips but bettter', Applied more heavily, would create a summery lip!
Luceeloves.blogspot.com.
Lucykennard91@gmail.com.
I would use them to fill out my lips completely, and finish the look with a clear gloss OR use the highlighters from the Lip Booms to give them that extra sparkle :D
ReplyDeleteBrooding Plus is definitely my favourite. Such a pretty colour.
GFC: Juyey
Email: Juyey@Hotmail.co.uk
I would make use of them in 3 ways lip liner (as intended for), full lip colour & I'll like to see what they would look like as a eye liner. Eye liner may work or may not as I've never tried lip liners on eyes before.
ReplyDeleteAs I'm starting to age my lips don't seem as full/plump as they used to be whenI was spring chic so I think these liners could certainly help me out & I like all the above colours.

Thanks for a chance to win your products
As an artist who likes using slightly unconventional methods, as well as using these as lip liners, I would probably end up using them as a painting medium. I love painting portraits using makeup as a medium as it's like taking their uses super literally. The problem with this however is how incredibly expensive some makeup products are, that's why I love MUA!
ReplyDeleteI am really loving the shades of the new lip liners by mua because it is my favourite drugstore brand. I would use these lip liners to to outline my lips, as an alternative to other lip products and as a base for the mua lip glosses and lipsticks to intensive the colour. I love the fact that mua is alway bringing out new products. Keep up the great products
ReplyDeleteI love Pink me zup! It's such a playful but wearable daytime pink! I would use them various ways. As a liner to prevent lipstick from smudging and stay in the line, as a base for glosses to enhance or alternate their shade/look, by itself as a stain/lipstick and under a clear gloss just to have the same color in a glossy finish!
ReplyDeleteWow MUA these are just gorgeous I am so glad you have brought out a lip liner range, that was one product I was wishing for.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite shades are Pink me up and softly lined, I just love my pinks :-)
I would use softly lined in the middle of the lips top and bottom and the darker shade of Pink me up n the outer lips top and bottom, so this will create a two toned pink lip, and I would top off with a clear gloss just in the centre of the lips to make them pop - Lip Lucious :-) xx
i will use this as a lipstick because i love all the colors!! looks awesome, and my favourite shades is Softly Lined. i can used it for daily :)
ReplyDeleteI would use the liners are a lipstick, the colours are super gorgeous! My favourite shade has to be Brooding Plum xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteI would use the liners are a lipstick, but also i would try this on cheeks if it will look nice :) would love to win and try these ones :]*
ReplyDeleteI'd do a gradient lip - starting with 'Brooding Plum' (my fave shade of the bunch) at both sides, blended into 'Pink Me Up' and finishing with 'Softly Lined' in the centre. Then maybe a dab of clear gloss!
ReplyDeleteI'd use these to have a fun girl's night out so we can try each shade and compare!
ReplyDeleteFollowed (under Heather Rowland).
ReplyDeleteI would use the liners to line my lips and make them appear larger, before applying lipstick or using them as a lipstick.
My favorite shade is brooding plum :)
I would definitely use them as a lipstick rather than a liner. I find liner alone a bit complicated to make look good. I love the pink me up shade! I can't wait to try these
ReplyDeleteAren't all the shades just gorgeous?! I particularly like the 'Pink me Up' shade and also the 'Softly Lined' shade!
ReplyDeleteObviously i would use the liners as Lip Liners, However, like you Karla i would also use them as Lipsticks. I would like to use Softly Lined on my cheekbones as a highlight and also on the inner-corners of my eyes, as it tends to brighten them up and makes them look more awake....even when i dont feel like im awake!
It would also be sooo handy having a one of the darker shades of liner in my handbag on the go, as they could also double up as a cream blusher, as the liners have such a lovely creamy formula!
I would have to say 'Pink Me Up' is my favourite shade! :-) Thanks for such a lovely giveaway!
I'd use the lipliner all over my lips as a base for my lipstick so it would last alot longer and my favourite shade is Pink Me Up :)
ReplyDeleteI would use the lip liner as an all over base for my MUA lipstick.
ReplyDeleteI would definitely use to line and fill in the lips and maybe the bright ones as fun bright eyeliner =)
ReplyDeleteI love the colours! Affordable yet pigmented and really really wearable! I love Brooding Plum and i'd probably use it lightly for some colour during the day and then as a lipstick for going out :) xxx
ReplyDeletei would wear brooding plum as a full lip colour and team it with titty tassles, stockings and silver platforms for maximum effect lol
ReplyDeletemichaela britton on facebook
i would use it like a lipstick because i love the colors!!! my favourite one is Softly Lined
ReplyDeleteI'd use them in my kit for the Bridal Make up I'll be doing for a Bridal party in August and for my upcoming photoshoots.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite shade is softly lined.
Dear MUA Makeup Academy
ReplyDeleteAnother fabulous giveaway for your blog followers! Thank you so much for your generosity and sharing of your useful reviews.
1. Have followed your blog via GFC.
GFC Name: Elaine Chang
2. What would I use the lip liners for? By wearing lip liner, it helps to stop my lipstick from bleeding, it defines my lips and it makes my mouth look very sensual. When I wore lipstick, I had four things I always for in my lip liners: Long wear, smudge proof and softness and a pinkish color that would go with most of the lip colors I wore. Just like I love long eyelashes, I adore full lips. So by using a lip liner I can make my lips appear fuller. If I want to thin them I can also do that with a liner.
3. My favorite shade is Pink Me Up. This shade is NOT a neutral kind of color, definitely pink-ish, not too bright but a nice shade to match my lips.
I would use this lip liner as a lipstick, with a gloss.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite shade is the "Softly Lined" one because it would give to my lips a natural effect. I imagine to wear it with a black & grey smokey eyes and a light pink blush.
I would definitely use these lip-liners as a base for lipstick, or on their own for an all-over matte effect.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to trying Red Drama - it would be the perfect foil for some red lipsticks I already own, to increase their staying power and give them an extra bit of oomph!!!
Well done MUA - another set of fantastic products at such affordable prices. The new bronzer looks interesting, too!

I would use them as a lipstick with a lip gloss over. Great colours <3
ReplyDeletered drama is my favourite! i would use it as a base for my lipsticks to enhance the color!
ReplyDeleteThese look great!
ReplyDeleteLaura x ~ http://demandbeauty.blogspot.co.uk/
i would use them under lipstick to make them stay on longer! x
ReplyDeleteI would use these as a liner, a lipstick and a base! My fav colour, well that a tough on, i love softly liner AND brooding plum!they are both so different yet equally sexy! I will prob buy them all on 1st Aug!
ReplyDeleteI'd use them to line and fill my lips, but since I love funny way to use colours, how about a winged eyeliner look with Brooding Plum or Pink me up?
ReplyDeleteI think it could work well since the pencil won't go inside the waterliner!
I usual add a pop of colour on a basic make-up and I dare to wear a strange colour!
P.s: yes, I'm a GFC follower
xoxo
I would use them all as lipsticks as they all look creamy enough to do so. I hate when a lipliner is completely non-creamy, and it dries out your lips!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite shade is Pink Me Up, because pink is my favourite colour to wear on the lips :) ♥
I would totally fill in my lips with them, and I love "Pink Me Up" and "Brooding Plum", they're gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI follow via GFC: Shopping Addict.

I would use them as a liner to outline my lips and also as an all over lip colour and I could also use them as a pop of colour to add to any makeup look my favourite shade is brooding plum as I love berry lip colours. I love your range and It is great for me as I have a limited budget when it comes to makeup and love multi purpose products.
ReplyDeleteI would use them as a lipstick! I love brooding plum!x
ReplyDeleteThey looks amazing! I would love to use them as lipstick.I love filling my lips with lip liner first as they stay on way longer than any kind of lipstick.
ReplyDeleteAll shades look gorgeous but I'm in love with the Pink Me Up shade
I'm looking forward to trying these, £1 is a bargain. I'd get all 4 as there is a shade for each colour bracket and that way my lipstick would stay and last longer.
ReplyDeleteThe prettiest part of our lips is the cupid bow. I would highlight the center of this with 'softly lined' then shade on the bottom lip line, in the center with 'brooding plum' to give my lips a volumised look, then id add a little bit of MUA's sheer gloss in the center of my lips and id be ready to go for a day or night look. For another look, id line my lips completely with 'pink me up' then highlight my cupids bow with 'softly lined' and for another look id line my entire lips with 'red drama' and add shading to my bottom lip with a bit of 'brooding plum' there's so many possibilities!! x
ReplyDeleteI would use softly lined all over my lips as a base for all my red/pink toned lipsticks to make them last longer

ReplyDeleteHave to love brooding plum the best as it's dark and mysterious like me,I would use them to fill in my lips as well as outline to give a sexy full pout that you need all year round, might add a lip boom to give it that extra umph and gloss appeal,I would also love to try out new lips designs, already done Jessie j union jack with your eye pencils on my lips so there is no stopping my colour addiction now thanks mua xxxxxx
ReplyDeletePink me up is my liner! Or I should say - I hope it will be soon! It would compliment most of my lipstick shades collection, I would love to try it under a clear gloss for a really simple, lasting, classy look :) Perfect for work - which by the way - wouldn't be half as interesting without the MUA blog! Thank you and get the lip liners and the gel liners on the website sooon!!
ReplyDeleteI would use them on their own for effortless lip days, and underneath lipsticks for staying power! It's so hard to choose a favourite they're all lovely! but if I had to I'd choose pink me up
ReplyDeletexx
Seeing how opaque the colour is on these, I would most likely wear them as lipstick, with or without a clear or shimmery gloss on top
ReplyDeleteI especially like Pink Me Up, but I like them all
Deletemy favorite shade is pink me up and i would use them as lipstick.
ReplyDeleteAll 4 liners are such pretty colours. My favorite would have to be 'Softly lined' as I would love to wear it with my go-to MUA Lipstick in shade 4!
ReplyDeletei will use them as a lipstick!! :D
ReplyDeleteI would use them as a lipstick, And i love the shade 'pink me up' just right :)!
ReplyDeletedearmakeup-bunny.blogspot.com
i would use them for both lining the lips and a lipstick and i love them ALL but if i had to pick it would be red drama ♥
ReplyDeleteI would wear them as a lipstick with clear gloss
ReplyDeleteI really like the lip pencil pink me up. I'd use them all the time as base for the lipstick so it would last longer and as border to the lips to avoid smudges
ReplyDeleteI'd use it to outline my lips :)
ReplyDeleteI'd wear them as both lip liners and full lip coverage with gloss on top!
ReplyDeleteI would like to use them as lipstick. The pink me up is class and chic. It will make my smile bright and look natural.
ReplyDeletemodish_chic08(at)yahoo(dot)com
Would definitely use Red Drama & Pink Me up (would be my fave I think because I can definitely use it everyday!) as lipsticks and top it off with gloss to get some moisture. Was thinking of using Softly Lined for my waterline to give a bit of color & brighten instead of just white liner :) I know they are suppose to be used for lips but there is no harm in trying that & see if it works :)
ReplyDeleteBrooding plum is my total fav...will use it to line and fill my lips and dab a little shimmer powder on the center of lips to give me a lip smacking pout!
ReplyDeletePlz pop along to my blog too.. Il be reviewing the bronzer n liners there when theyr out. And i do makeup looks wth step by step instructions xx

My favourite shade is Softly lined, i would use it to line my lips and give myself a lovely defined pout, the colours are all lovely and would go very well with a few different lipsticks i have, very versatile!

My favourite shade is Softly Lined as I love the pink lip liner. I will use the liner to outline my lips and make it appear fuller. I will also use it as a blush to highlight my cheek bones because of soft pink glow. So, I am very much addicted to it and waiting eagerly to use it soon.
